This optical experiment is all over social networks right now. If you look at the image properly, you will soon be able to see the face of Jesus Christ. Whilst you may have seen this kind of optical illusion before, the clarity of this image in particular is leaving people astounded.

This optical illusion is one of the most famous out there, as this image allows you to see clearly Jesus while staring at a wall. To achieve this, you simply have to follow the instructions in the video.

However, this effect isno miracle, instead, there's a perfectly rational scientific explanation for why our eyes trick us into seeing a colour image of Jesus after staring at this black and white negative.

This phenomenon is known as a negative residual image and occurs in the retina of the eye. By staring at the photo, we force our brains to do the same work as a photo development. Hence, we see several colours for hair, skin and other features.
