The Botanist, a pub chain with more than 22 locations across the UK, is looking for a 'pro-tate tester' who will be weighing in on just how good of a Sunday roast the restaurant chain can come up with. That's right: all that is required of you is to munch on some seriously mouth-watering classic British staples and then reviewing them.
What will be on the menu?
With their new 'family-style' sharing roasts that the culinary team has intended to add to their menu, feedback is crucial to make sure the quality is top-notch. By becoming their resident taste-tester you can expect to be getting payed to gobble on the following: roast sirloin of beef, roast chicken, pot roast lamb shoulder, slow roast glazed pork belly or a celeriac mushroom and pearl barley wellington accompanied by a Yorkshire pudding. This will be served alongside sharing boards of maple glazed carrots, signature roast potatoes, minted greens, and jugs of gravy.
But that's not all, folks. Four different sides will also have to be tested to find out if improvement is needed, including: shorrocks Lancashire cauliflower cheese with Parmesan crumb, creamed cabbage with smoked bacon, pork, sage and onion stuffing balls with sour cherries and pigs in blankets in cranberry glaze. Executive chef James Scott explains that:
One thing we've definitely missed over the last year is sitting down and sharing a roast with our nearest and dearest. Our latest Botanist roast menu is designed with those moments in mind. I'm hoping the Pro-tato Tester can help us ensure our roast is always worth sharing.
And added:
We actively collect reviews from every plate served through our short end-of-meal survey via our Yumpingo tablets, so this position is a natural extension of how important feedback is for us in making sure every Roast is worth sharing.
How much will you be making?
The restaurant is offering to pay a whopping £500 to have you eat their food and either write a 500-word review or produce a one-minute-long video to be posted on social media. Did we mention you get to eat all the aforementioned deliciousness for free?
