A Health Issue
The building manager of the flat was contacted by a resident who complained about there being faeces all over the lobby of the 19-unit building. Upon checking the security camera, the manager was surprised to see a DoorDash delivery driver taking a dump in a dustbin in the building’s lobby.
The bewildered manager, Lisa Stanley, told Fox 11:
What I saw… I could not unsee. I was flabbergasted at what I saw. She let it go. You know what they say, ‘when you gotta go, you gotta go,' and boy did she ever. This is a health issue. You have a human being who's taking a poop in the middle of her job in a lobby of an apartment building and then resuming her job which is delivering and touching food.
Stanley added that if the driver had asked to use her toilet, she would have allowed it, adding that even if she felt embarrassed to ask, she could have used the nearby bush to take care of business instead of the lobby of the building.
Actions Taken
Stanley contacted DoorDash support, using the app to alert them, but the company replied with a message saying they will be investigating the incident.
Thank you for your patience, and I hope you're doing well. We do not condone this type of action and are currently investigating this with the information provided.
Stanley posted the video on Twitter and got another reply from someone associated with the company saying:
We cannot apologize enough for this happening. The actions of the Dasher were completely uncalled for. Allow us to make sure we get this addressed. Send over a DM with your email and phone number so we can make this situation right.
The official went on to state that the driver in question no longer worked with the company. However, they would not make public details of the investigations.
The company refunded her order, the tip she gave the driver and added $20 credit to her account.
