An index finger shorter than a ring finger?
According to a 2011 study published in the Asian Journal of Andrology, if your index finger is shorter than your ring finger, it could well mean you have a larger than average penis.
Before you turn to your hands, we remind you gentlemen, that when it comes to sex, size doesn't matter. But if you still want to know the size of your neighbour's or office mate's penis, or just want to check out the validity of this hypothesis, Dr Kran Raj, who is very popular on TikTok, reveals the famous method for determining the size of a penis.
Here's how to determine the size of a penis
'It's called the ratio of the second to the fourth digit,' explains this surgeon from the NHS, in a video that has already garnered over 100,000 likes.
It's calculated by dividing the length of the index finger by the length of the ring finger. The smaller the index finger, the lower the 2D-4D ratio.
A smaller digit ratio is usually a sign of higher testosterone exposure in utero, Dr Raj explains. According to the study, a smaller ratio indicates higher exposure to testosterone within the womb. So even before you were born, the size of your future penis, as well as your fingers, were pre-destined. The doctor says, rather amused by the flood of comments his post has triggered:
It's not a hard and fast rule. It's an interesting study, but by no means a rule book!
