Lookhart performed the stunt on a patient who was under sedation whilst he was riding a hoverboard. The man filmed the event and sent it to colleagues and friends outside the practice. However impressive the extraction sounds, it can not be denied that it was highly unethical.

But, hoverboarding during work hours was not the only reason that Seth was sentenced as the man had racked up quite the record of dentist malpractice including extracting a tooth without the knowledge of the patient as well as Medicaid fraud. Judge Michael Wolverton, who sentenced the moronic dentist stated:
In reviewing all this over and over again, I have this visceral response - you darn near killed some people.
The judge wasn't the only one with an axe to grind as the victim of the hoverboard incident, Veronica Wilhelm, also had some harsh words for Lookhart:
What you did was outrageous, narcissistic and crazy. I think you have to be pretty narcissistic - you must be pretty full of yourself to think you can pull someone's tooth out on a hoverboard.
Seth had his medical license revoked back in 2017, a year after the hoverboard incident, and when he is released from jail he will not be permitted to practise medicine of any kind for 10 years as part of a probation period. The judge continued to outline Lookhart's crimes:
Lookhart almost killed many patients by performing anaesthesia thousands of times without training or consent, on patients outside his scope of training and expertise, while stealing money from Medicaid and embezzling from his bosses.
The video filmed in 2016 showed Lookhart performing the procedure on Veronic Wilhelm before successfully extracting the tooth and gliding away down the hall in triumph. However, despite the incident being a turning point for Lookhart it was also just the tip of the iceberg when it came to his misdemeanours.
The judge found Seth's company, Lookhart Dental LLC, who also traded as Clear Creek Dental, guilty of 40 criminal counts. Among them was also $1.9 million worth of fraud. Lookhart had also been unnecessarily sedating patients to maximize Medicaid payouts.
