Left to die
Her story was revealed by Jessica, an American ICU nurse who was on duty when the whole debacle happened.
The nurse who witnessed this horrifying experience in the hospital expressed her grief on Twitter, LADbible reports, saying that the girl’s life could have been saved if only her parents were willing to allow the medical staff to give the child the attention she needed.
Jessica writes on Twitter:
Tonight I helplessly held the hand of and stroked the hair of a beautiful 14-year-old girl as she exited this world.
She was looking forward to starting high school and eventually becoming a veterinarian. It was so senseless!
I truly believe she could have been saved if her parents had not forbidden us from intubating her.
A free vaccination would have prevented it all! This little girl was robbed of her whole life and of fulfilling all of her dreams. She had been with us 9 days and was able to communicate well until taking a turn for the worse.
Health workers at risk
According to Jessica, her and her colleagues have not been safe because of their stance on advising patients to get vaccinated. She said they have received a lot of threats, and at one point her colleague's car tires were slashed by anti-vaxxers.
The vilification of nurses due to their position on taking the vaccine is not only occurring in the US, but also in the UK. Nursing Times reported recently that the chief executive of the Royal College of Midwives, Gill Walton, allegedly received lots of threats and online abuse because she encouraged pregnant women to get vaccinated.
It was also revealed that other midwives around the world are currently experiencing these vicious verbal attacks as a result of their support for COVID-19 vaccines.
Jessica, like many other frontline workers, wants everyone to know about the dangers of not getting vaccinated. It is indeed a Herculean task to keep treating all the infected cases and also try to convince people who choose not to believe in the veracity of science but rather in the idiosyncrasies of social media.
