Little did he know he'd end up on the ground, locked in between his victim's legs squealing in pain as she threatens to break his arm. Indeed, 22-year-old Sabrina Leite is a promising jiu-jitsu student in training, with over four years of experience.
It turns out that the young lady chased after the criminal after he realised he made a grave mistake. She had the help of her neighbour, who accompanied the chase in a car.
As Sabrina finally caught up to the boy, she wrestled him down to the ground and locked him in an armbar, a popular technique used in Jiu-Jitsu to get an opponent under control: "I immobilised him," Sabrina explains.
Around 20 minutes after holding the boy in a rock-solid lock, the police arrived and arrested him for attempted robbery. But Sabrina didn't let the fight finish too quickly, leaving us with the video of the robber serving his justice as he struggled to move in her hold.
Although Sabrina chooses to stay humble about the entire incident, "It's all a question of technique. I have been training for four years, I'm still a white belt. Ranking and belts don't matter to me."
Stay badass and humble, Sabrina!
