Wearing her wedding dress, Seblani was all smiles as she was being shot by a professional ahead of her wedding. The bride, as well as her husband, had arrived in the country from the United States weeks prior, where she works as a doctor.
The scene quickly turned from a picturesque shoot in the nation's capital to a panic when an explosion at the port occurred that has already claimed a confirmed 135 lives, leaving thousands of others injured.
Since initial reports on Tuesday, experts have confirmed that the explosion, occurring following the ignition of some ammonium nitrate fertiliser that had been stored for years in the port, was the equivalent of 1 to 1.5 kilotons of TNT. The blast boasted an intensity equal to a tenth of the nuclear bomb dropped on Hiroshima, making it one of the largest non-nuclear explosions in history.
As depicted in the video above, Seblani, as well as others participating in the shoot, managed to make it out of harm's way. The 29-year-old doctor promptly went to check for injuries of those who were caught in the explosion.
Following the explosion, Seblani and her husband decided to follow through with the photoshoot:
My husband told me to continue, we can't stop. I was like okay, why not, we continue. I was not living the moment actually, I was like walking, my face was smiling, my lips were smiling, that's it, not more. Then we went to have a dinner.
The damage of the Beirut explosion
While the estimated cost of damages may still being calculated, it's easy to see the devastation of the explosion in the photos of the aftermath.
To give people a better idea of the magnitude of the blast, Joanna Merson took to Twitter to demonstrate the impact this explosion would have had in major cities like New York City and London.
