Zack is a very athletic young man and so it might come as quite a surprise that when he was 17 years old, he went into a cardiac arrest while running in one of his PE lessons. He was immediately rushed to hospital and what happened next is both shocking and thought-provoking.

Almost pronounced dead
After his heart had stopped beating for a full 20 minutes, doctors wanted to pronounce the teenager as dead. But contrary to everyone’s expectations, a miracle took place. Just like this other teenager from the USA, Zack came back to life and doctors were unable to explain why.
In an interview with CBS DFW, he then revealed what had happened to him while he was unconscious for those 20 long minutes. Zack claims that he saw Jesus. He told the journalists:
‘I saw a man who had long, ruffled hair and kind of a thick beard, and it didn’t take me long to realize that that was Jesus.’
An influence over others
Zack claims that his near-death experience has made others start to believe. Even the teenager’s own father was left speechless when he heard his son’s story.
‘For him to wake up and tell us something he experienced like that. It’s just you can’t explain it. It’s not humanly possible to explain it.’
But there are of course be people who doubt Zack’s story. However, reports of near-death experiences, such as Chris Harrison’s, always have a little silver lining if they mean that people are less afraid of dying as a result.
