The video which depicts the raw joy a child experiences during the fitting for his new prosthetic leg hit over 12,000 views within the first 12 hours of its release.

The boy, Ahmad Rahman, sadly lost his leg while with his sister when he was just 8 months old. He was brutally injured when an attack broke out between the Taliban and his own country’s government forces.
War is unfortunately a common occurrence in Afghanistan and therefore this is sadly not a rare case. During the attack in his village in the Logar province, Ahmad was shot in the leg and this later had to be amputated.
However this moment, captured by his physiotherapist, Mulkara Rahimi at the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) has gone viral as the hearts of the nation are captured by this gleeful young spirit. This is the fourth prosthetic limb for Ahmad because each limb must be replaced as the child grows.
More than a million of Afghanistan’s population are currently suffering from a disability, many of which have derived from the wars which have plagued the country for the past four decades. The ICRC had added that two thirds of their patients incurred their injury through either landmines, improvised explosive devices, or other war remnants.
