The Arctic Hideaway makes its home on the tiny island of Fordypningsrommet and it’s perfectly situated right in themiddle of nowhere. No highways, no cars, no stores, no nothing. To get there, you have to take a ferry from Oslo. The establishment advises that you bring along your own alcohol, food, and lots of warm clothing, as even in summer it can be very cold.
Made up of only 10 individual houses, the Arctic Hideaway can host 15 people at a time. Made in 2014, it’s the brainchild of Norwegian musician Havard Lund, who wanted to create a secluded space for artists. If you’re thinking of staying there, best to know that it’s a little more than 250 euros per night per person, but that kind of serenity is worth it!
