Once there the doctors, concerned about her condition, decided to operate to determine what was causing her this pain. They then made a discovery that they could not believe. When operating on Neha Begum, the surgeons found no less than 150 worms nearly 10 inches long teeming in her belly. According to the doctors, if they had not intervened in time, the worms could have caused very serious, even irreversible neurological damage.
Fortunately for Neha Begum, she was saved and is now doing much better. As one of her doctors, Dr Anand Prakash Tiwari explains, it’s an unhealthy lifestyle that probably led to this patient’s ill state of health. He told the Sun:
These worms’ eggs are usually found in unclean water and unripe vegetables, and good basic hygiene can prevent such problems.
