Imagine waking up in the middle of the night to an intruder rummaging through your kitchen drawers looking for something to munch on. Well in the case of Ratchadawan Puengprasoppon, it wasn’t actually a person but an elephant who had literally crashed through her kitchen wall in search of a few treats.

Late-night snack
In the wee hours of Saturday morning, Puenprasoppon woke up to thunderous noises that were coming from inside her kitchen. And when she ran to see what all the commotion was about, she discovered aginormous elephant head poking through the wall.
The elephant, a local terror that they call Boonchuay, had chosen her home as his next self-serve restaurant. His trunk was sweeping through all her pots and pans looking for anything to feast on, but unfortunately he only landed upon a plastic bag that he immediately popped into his mouth. Puenprasoppon didn’t know what to do, so she took out her phone and recorded the shocking moment for the world to see.
Regular visitors
Puengprasoppon lives in the Chalermkiatpattan village near Thailand’s Kaeng Krachan national park—which is home to the magnificent beast, Boonchuay. And according to the park's superintendent, Itthipon Thaimonkol, elephants are regular visitors of the village. He told Thai media:
They come to visit quite often. They always come when there is the local market because they can smell food.
This wasn’t the first time that Boonchuay has broken into Puenprasoppon’s house though. Thai media reported that his last visit incurred damages that cost almost 50,000 baht, which is around £1,140.
