Hearsay says that when you meet with a wild bear, you need to play dead, but in reality, we can only imagine how hard it would be not flee right away. This tourist had the most surprising reaction when the wild bear came to her. Not only she didn't run immediately away from it, but she also took a selfie with her new friend. The nerves!
While her friends stood frozen by fear, the woman was not scared in the least and even made a new hiking buddy as the bear seemed to actually pose for the selfie. It's safe to say these two clicked immediately. Fortunately, the situation had a happy ending, but it could have turned very bad for the hiking ladies.
After the video went viral on social media, many issued a warning about the danger of not taking these encounters seriously. Nuevo Leon's government shared a statement on how to act in the presence of a black bear:
Stay calm, never come between a baby and its mother, don’t feed them, take shelter when watching them, avoid photographing and taking selfies with them.
The person who posted the video ensured that it's very common to see black bears in the Chipinque Ecological Park and people are aware of the risks.
Still, this must be so scary.
